Cel Shading brushes are specially designed for painting anime-style miniatures and figures using flat shading techniques. This technique, based on Japanese animation cel shading, seeks to represent light and shadow with well-defined blocks of color, without blurring or smooth transitions, to achieve a visual effect similar to that of a 2D illustration on a 3D figure.
The main feature of these brushes is their extremely fine and elongated tip. Thanks to this shape, they allow for a greater paint load and a continuous, precise, and stable stroke. This greatly facilitates tasks such as outlining contours, applying flat shadows, highlighting facial expressions, and marking details with great control, without the bristles deforming during the process.
They are particularly suitable for painting styles such as anime shading and toon painting, where a clean, graphic finish is essential. Their design meets the needs of those seeking a stylized result with sharp, flawless lines, imitating the visual language of comics and animation.
In addition to their use in anime figures, Cel Shading brushes are also very useful in glass painting, a technique that involves painting on smooth, non-porous surfaces such as glass or acetate. In this context, their precision allows for effortless application of flat color and defined strokes, making them a versatile tool for artists working in model making, illustration, or mixed media.
